For the 15th time in a row, Schaeffler is sending help to those in need in Southeast Europe. What sounds like routine is always a highlight at the end of the year. In particular, because almost 600 parcels have been collected for the Johanniter Christmas printer collection campaign. The voluntary action was organized by the works council and the youth and trainee representatives of Schaeffer again this year.

581 parcels are a new record: the Schaeffler employees have never shown so much willingness to help families in need. The packages contain basic foodstuffs such as flour, rice, sugar and oil as well as hygiene articles such as toothbrushes and shower gel according to precise specifications. Children are also thought of during the Christmas season, so a toy should not be missing, like cookies and chocolate. Individual employees have handed in their parcels in the past few days, entire departments have merged and, after a wholesale purchase, filled the boxes provided by the company. In addition, 30 Schaeffler Carrera railways for children's facilities go on the trip, plant and personnel management at the Herzogenaurach location support with 1,000 euros in fuel. Around 500 euros will be donated from the collection box to Schaeffler employees. "We were particularly happy when a few small children and educators from the bilingual daycare center Villa Herzolina stood in front of the gate in a Boller car and handed in five packages," said Marinela Thiel, who once again made the donations as works council member Action coordinated. Her colleague Norbert Lamm adds: “The parcel collection has established itself and has become a permanent facility. 15 years ago we started with five packages and we were able to increase our participation steadily. The employees are now asking questions early and want to know when it will finally start and what the packing list looks like. "

Schaeffler parcels travel to Romania with a convoy
The nationwide campaign of the Johanniter takes place for the 26th time. On the second Christmas day, around 45 Christmas trucks with a total of around 60,000 aid packages collected headed for south-east Europe. “The truck with the parcels of the Schaeffler employees is planned for a tour to Romania. We head for about 180 unloading points there. On site, we work very well with the local authorities, the police and the fire department. This is how we ensure that the help really reaches families in need with children and in the appropriate facilities, ”says Lorand Szüszner, Johanniter's foreign aid officer, who heads the convoy.
